Fresh, vibrant and effortlessly uplifting.
Cloud Chorus is a fresh, vibrant English Chardonnay that celebrates the brightness of an English summer.
Delicate aromas of meadow flowers lead into lively notes of lemon zest, green apple skin and Galia melon, gently layered with hints of white peach, hawthorn blossom and crushed chalk, finishing with crisp acidity and elegant mineral freshness.
Crafted from two carefully selected Chardonnay clones and fermented in both concrete and stainless steel before blending, Cloud Chorus showcases the purity of the fruit and the character of the vineyard. The adventurous frog and drifting hot-air balloons on the label celebrate West Sussex's landscapes and Thakeham's rich aviation heritage, capturing a spirit of freedom, optimism and discovery.

100% Chardonnay - Clones 809 & 548
Planted at the top of Greenhurst Field, this 4-hectare Chardonnay block enjoys a south-facing aspect and sandy loam soils that warm quickly in spring. Carefully selected Chardonnay clones thrive in these conditions, producing fruit with bright acidity, balanced ripeness and the fresh, elegant character that defines Cloud Chorus.
Sandy Silt Loam: Sand – 33.8%, Silt – 51.69%, Clay – 14.51%
Cloud Chorus is crafted from two carefully selected, aromatic Chardonnay clones, each harvested, whole-bunch pressed and fermented separately to preserve its individual character. One parcel was fermented in concrete to build texture, while the other was fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness and aromatic purity. The wines were then blended and matured on their fine lees, creating a Chardonnay with balance, elegance and vibrant fruit before being bottled under screwcap to preserve its youthful freshness.
The 2025 season was warm, dry and notably consistent, providing ideal conditions for Chardonnay throughout the growing cycle. Long, sunny days encouraged even ripening, while careful harvest timing preserved freshness and vibrant acidity. The result is a bright, expressive vintage with elegant fruit, refined minerality and exceptional balance.
Pair Clous Chorus with fresh, seasonal dishes that showcase complexity. Try it with seared scallops, grilled sea bass, roast chicken, asparagus risotto or creamy burrata. A lightly matured Comté or young Gruyère also makes an excellent match. Its bright acidity and elegant freshness make it equally enjoyable as an aperitif.
